Wander from within, a tribute exhibition on author design.
A design aimed at craftsmanship and encouraging to reorganize the space surrounding us.
Small environments and connection man-nature: the starting and tipping point.
A collection of furniture co-designed by cultural tastemaker Adrian Cheng and Japanese designer Shigeru Uchida has been exhibited during the Salone del Mobile, 4 to 8 April, at Villa Necchi Campiglio (Milan).
The Khora collection winds on five exclusive products, and is a poetic interpretation of décor design.
It is the last collection by Uchida-san, passed away in November 2016 before the completion of the samples. Through his design, Uchida-san has explored the sensitivity of the ephemeral and the ritual of the tea ceremony in the Japanese culture, with its meticulous use of details.
During the path, pictures and craft pieces were matched by haikus, traditional Japanese poetry, to fulfil this ritual storytelling, unveiling and telling us the importance of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Uchida-san’s works are hosted in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and in the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.
