The rooftop bar trend has reached Milan, and I can tell you it is really as precious when seen from above. Here’s a list of my favorite ones for view and service:
Super-close view on the Piazza del Duomo. Cocktail hour matches the Milan tradition with the tapas-bar. The link, the beverage, is of course Aperol. Yet of course popular drinks are available, such as the Cosmolychee (vodka, lychee spirit, lime juice and blueberry juice). Aperitivo everyday from 6 PM to 10 PM for 12 €.

Sky terrace Milano Scala
The Sky Terrace of the Hotel Milano Scala is an actual roof garden with urban vegetable patch, whose fresh products are used for food and cocktails. The green cocktail aperitivo is accompanied by a selection of organic finger food served in a box of strawberries.
With its 360° view of the town, from Brera to the new skyline skyscrapers to the Duomo, sitting on soft couches between creepers and design object, the eco- and chic- union is complete. Aperitivo from 6 pm to 9 pm for 15 €. Closed on Sundays.
Looking out onto the beating heart of the new fashion and design district, it is a patchwork of design décor: Castellani&Smith lights and soft colored sofas welcome you while you sip a Paloma’s, a light drink with caramelized rum, with ginger aloe and hints of Sicilian fruits, tasting mini quiches, cous cous and finger food, always very light. Metropolitan chic ambience, customers over 30. Open every day except Mondays, from 7 pm to 12:30 am. 10€ per drink.
La Gare Hotel Milano Centrale
Looking onto the new amazing skyline of Milan, from the Bosco Verticale dell’Isola to the green tower of Porta Nuova, the refined décor makes it the ideal location for a tradition Milan aperitivo with a DJ set or for a special event. Open every day from 6:30 pm to 12 am. Wednesdays and Fridays until 1 am.
Aperitivo for 15 €.
I had already mentioned it in the post of where to eat in Milan: the rooftop of Ceresio 7 is certainly the most glamorous place where you can sip your drink at sunset. The night ritual begins at 6:30 pm and offers finger food and gourmet dishes served on the go, such as marinated salmon tartare with avocado, or vitel tonné with capers and quail egg.
Food is accompanied by signature or revisited cocktails. Here a classic Moscow Mule (vodka, lime and ginger) is served in copper mugs; spritz is called Ceresio here and does not contain Aperol but rather Solerno Liqueur.
Aperitivo every day from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
Cocktail prices from 16€.
Located above the Triennale, with a view on the beautiful Parco Sempione and Arco della Pace, you also see the new Milan Skyline with Gae Aulenti’s skyscrapers. Always open, cocktails by renowned Luis Hidalgo.
The restaurant is managed by Stefano Cerveni.
Cocktails from 14 €.
